Luqi Lukman creates subtle compositions out of materials that he accumulates over time. Slowly built, Lukman's work embodies a sense of flux and absorption in time that comes muted in their almost monochromatic rendering. Working between organic objects and industrial, almost structural, plain materials; his works meanders without preconception to embody subjective memories into the tangible.
Selected exhibitions include I am Able to Ask but Too Stupid to Understand, Studio Batur, Bandung (2018); Telisik, Fajar Sidik Gallery, Yogyakarta (2017); Thinking Through Craft, Lorong Gallery, Yogyakarta (2017); Kemungkinan, Ruang Seduh, Yogyakarta (2016); The Gate, Institut Français d’Indonesie, Bandung (2015); Nandur Srawung, Taman Budaya Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta (2014); Print Parade, Studio Grafis Minggiran, Yogyakarta (2013); Pseudo Participative, Cemeti Art House, Yogyakarta (2012); City Soundscape, IVAA-Karta Pustaka-Galeri Biasa, Yogyakarta (2012).
